Well, since I took a much longer break than I intended to take from blogging, I have a lot to catch you all up on.

I am currently on my third week of sophomore year.. I have survived it thus far. It’s so crazy, to me, to think that I am already a quarter of the way to graduating and becoming “Miss Varner.” Whoa, maybe I don’t want to think about it!

There have been so many changes in these last few months that I will probably forget to mention a few, or more.. so bear with me.

First off – I am so excited to share my new position as the PINK Nation Pro. I am one of the newest members of the PINK campus crew at Iowa State. This opportunity started with me filling out an extensive application talking about my ideas for promoting PINK on campus as well as my current involvement on campus. I also had the chance to talk to our reps in person and a week later I got the call that I had made it on. I was one of 10 girls who made it on out of the 55 people who applied. You could say I was a bit excited to get that call! So far we have had one event. We had the PINK bus make a stop on ISU’s campus as a part of their campus fall tour. I spent the day taking pictures and talking with girls about our PINK collegiate collection. I was able to meet and talk with the other new members on our team and all around had a great time! I may have even done a little of shopping for myself! I am so excited for this new adventure!

Another exciting thing that I have been up to lately is my new position as a college of human sciences ambassador. Last spring I had filled out an application along with doing an interview with the college of human sciences. After a short time I had found out that I would be serving as an ambassador for the 2016-2017 school year. It is all official now that I have my name tag and we have red polos! This position will include being a representative for the college at various events as well as answering questions and giving tours for prospective students. I am so excited to take on this leadership role as well as learn more about the college of human sciences!

Even with all of the crazy new things, I am still working at the NCRC as a part of the Nevada school district. This fall I attended my very first district meeting where we were able to listen to and interact with the principals and superintendent of the district. It gave me new ideas for the school year as well as pumped me up and got me excited for the new year.

As well as my job, I am still doing a lot of nannying and babysitting. I am still nannying in Ankeny and loving every minute of it. I am so excited that next month there will be another little one arriving! In just a few months I will be able to care for not only an active one year old but a newborn as well! I not only have been nannying but I have been doing a lot of babysitting on the side as I have taken on new families from making connections in the community. I often get asked how I can manage working so much. But.. it’s not work when you’re having fun and passionate about what you do!

I could go on and on about updates on my life as the last few weeks have been so crazy but I am not here to give a whole biography of myself… I probably already lost the attention of some! I look forward to getting back in the routine of writing! I promise to have more interesting posts in the future. I just wanted to take the chance to update everyone a little bit about what’s going on!
